Sophia Allison (MFA, University of Wisconsin-Madison; BFA, East Carolina University) works in a variety of media including sculpture, collage, sewing and installation. Her work has been shown in exhibitions within the U.S and abroad including France, Seoul, Korea, The Palm Springs Art Fair, The Los Angeles International Airport (through the Department of Cultural Affairs' competitive LA World Airport Art Program), The Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles, d.e.n. contemporary art, AndrewShire Gallery, Kristi Engle Gallery, and the Torrance Art Museum. Ms. Allison's art has received favorable critical reviews in publications including Los Angeles Times, Artillery Magazine, MAKE magazine, and Artscene. From September 2014-June 2015, she was a visiting artist at Pilgrim School, teaching sculpture classes to middle and high school students. Most recently, she and fellow artist Leanne Lee installed a collaborative sculpture at the San Jose Institute for Contemporary Art. Sophia lives and works in Los Angeles.
